I'm Vaclav, a helicopter pilot holding the EASA Private Piloting License - PPL(H). I enjoy flying in my free time and I can provide you with a helicopter experience too.
I'm born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. Currently living in Oslo. Like all little boys, I have been staring at the skies every time I heard helicopter flying overhead but the idea of being the person in the cockpit never crossed my mind. That changed shortly after me and my girlfriend were involved in mountain rescue in the Alps that left a profound impact on me. Within a year since that happened, I was sitting in a helicopter on my first solo flight.
I started in the summer of 2023 and received my Private Piloting License one year later, July 2024. Currently I have over 110 flight hours in Robinson and Guimbal helicopters. PPL is the first step. What is holding me away from the Commercial Piloting License in the first place is a high volume of experience collected through time in the cockpit.
Sharing the free seats in the cockpit is a great way to provide helicopter experience to other people who wish to try. It is also the easiest way for me to fly the helicopter more often as the total cost splits between four people.
Flying always involves some inherent risk, and my job as a pilot is to manage that risk as carefully as possible. When flying with passengers, I take a conservative approach. We will fly routes I am familiar with, and if weather or local conditions are unsuitable, I will change the plan, divert or cancel the flight. My promise is that completing the planned flight will never be more important than making the right and safe decision.
